What Causes Pimples?

There are several factors that lead to formation of pimples. The most common cause for pimples is the production of excess sebum by the oil glands. The sebum clogs the hair follicles resulting in formation of pimples. Other causes include hormonal changes, hereditary factors and use of medications containing steroids and lithium.
